A common question and concern is… what are we going to wear for our pictures? I like to suggest that you don’t go matchy-matchy but coordinate. Pick a color family and coordinate. Sometimes it helps to pick a sweater or top and build out from there. Also by shopping at one or two stores, they tend to carry clothes that coordinate together already so much of the work is done for you.

My family was thrilled when I announced that I wanted to get a family picture in the snow before our oldest left again for school. We drove to the American Fork Canyon looking for a spot that didn’t have 3 feet of snow. The kids were especially happy about the 11 toasty degrees outside. I agree it was freezing and I was able to get four pictures taken before they all ran off of the warmth of the car. We stopped for hot chocolate and the cold was almost forgotten by the time we got home… almost.

We weren’t sure that this night was going to happen… the weather was looking threatening but in the end the sun came out and we were able to get some beautiful images. We found some fun locations, great backgrounds and a snake! Luckily the snake didn’t want anything to do with us and quickly moved on.

Miss R is just so cute and has the most gorgeous blue eyes. And she was willing to try anything that I suggested (except sit next to the snake). But who can blame her?!
